The KickStart Kitchen offers free professional chef training and networking services to those currently facing a barrier to employment.

The course consists of 20 modules over 4 weeks. Then, working with partner restaurants, hotels and catering companies we organise work placements in the hope they lead to a full time position.

The aim is to create new careers for those eager to get going, while helping alleviate the recruitment struggles currently facing our hospitality sector.

Our Head Training Chef Ciaran Crawford has created an innovative and genius curriculum that gets anyone and everyone ready for entry level positions in top kitchens.

***PROJECT UPDATE***

In the summer of 2025, we ran the pilot course for the KickStart Kitchen and we couldn’t be happier! We took 6 trainees who are currently living in Direct Provision and 3 of them are now in full time employment, and two others have undertaken the two year diploma course on TUD.
