SumGood is a social enterprise based in Dublin, Ireland. We put long term positive social impact over short term profits and are on a mission to create an innovative, life changing platform in our KickStart Kitchen Chef Training Programme.
We are giving 100% of our focus to this programme, as we believe it can grow to help a huge number of those who deserve a second chance and who wish to become masters of their own destinies again.
The KickStart Kitchen Chef Training Programme aims to help those currently facing a barrier to employment by putting them through an intense month-long course while also helping them find work placements or full time jobs as entry level commis chefs.
The secondary aim is to also help restaurants, hotels and catering companies with their current recruitment struggles. We will deliver trained up, enthusiastic graduates with their own uniforms, safety shoes and chef knives ready to hit the ground running in any kitchen.
We just ran the pilot over the summer with 6 trainees from Direct Provision taking part in our two month course. At the time of writing 2 of the 6 are now in full time employment in Stripe’s brand new kitchen in Grand Canal Dock, another is working full time in Urban Green upstairs in Chapters (part of the Arboretum family) and two have undertaken the two year diploma with TUD.
If you are interested in taking on graduates into your kitchen, or are interested in becoming a course participant, please reach out.
