At SumGood our goal is to raise funds through positive, innovative and fun methods – like our live & online art auctions and our pop up restaurant events – and use those funds to fund our KickStart Kitchen Chef Training Programme – which offers free chef training and networking services to anyone currently facing a barrier to employment.
Our pilot and inaugural course taking place in October 2025 is working with young people living in Direct Provision.
SumGood Founder Andy Sweeney has 14+ years experience as Founder and Head of Fundraising at The SCOOP Foundation.
SumGood Co-Founder George Gerard Mealy has 17 years’ experience as a top auctioneer and 14 years’ experience as a Board Member of a SCOOP.
Together we want to create a social enterprise unlike any other seen in Ireland before, one that has love and innovation at the heart of everything we do.
A social enterprise is an enterprise whose objective is to achieve a social or environmental impact, rather than maximising profit for its owners or shareholders. It pursues its objectives by trading on an ongoing basis through the provision of goods and/ or services, and by reinvesting surpluses fully or primarily into achieving social objectives. National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland 2024 – 2027
SumGood was incorporated in June 2023 and operates as a company limited by guarantee, meaning there is no share capital divided by our two directors or board members. Profits are invested back into our mission which focuses on having a positive social impact.
We are creating an Board / Advisory Panel of legal, accounting, entrepreneurial and creative leaders in order to guide and drive SumGood forward and to ensure we are meeting all of our legal, and moral, requirements.
